Antique Turkish Rugs & Kilims

Historically, Turkish methods for weaving rugs are quite similar to those that were used in Iran “Persia”. Rug weaving has been practised in Turkey for hundreds of years and the best-known antique Turkish carpets are Holbein’s (which consisted of defined geometric designs consisting of stars and squares) and Oushaks (which are known for their silky luminous wool in colours of cinnamon, gold, blues, greys, greens and saffron’s whilst being woven with both star and medallion designs).
