SUN FADED COLOUR REJUVENATION SHEAR
This process rejuvenates, and brings back to life, rugs that have been affected by sun bleaching by shearing off only the top few millimetres of discoloured pile to reveal fresh, new and vibrant colours.
Rugs exposed to even the smallest amount of sunlight can cause it to gradually undergo a process commonly known as “sun bleaching”. Sun bleaching causes a rug to lose its vibrant colours and become quite dull. What most people are unaware of is that sun bleaching only affects the top few millimetres of the rug pile.
We have direct access to state of the art machinery that allows us to rejuvenate, and bring back to life, rugs that have been affected by sun bleaching by shearing off only the top few millimetres of discoloured pile to reveal fresh, new and vibrant colours.
This process is effective only if the discolouration is on the surface of the rug and has not seeped too deep into the pile. We are able to determine the likely success of our shearing service through a quick examination of the rug, and these findings can then be explained to you prior to the commencement of any work.
Our rug shearing service is performed by an expert whose work is generally undertaken in a rug restoration facility which has been specifically designed and fitted out with all the tools and equipment necessary to ensure a successful result.
We are also able to undertake the works onsite should that be preferable.

ANTIQUE SHEAR
This process involves us shearing off the rug pile and leaving only the very base of the rug exposed, thus producing both an antique appearance and texture.
Many people prefer the appearance and feel of older rugs which have little or no pile at all.
We have direct access to state of the art machinery that allows us to shear the pile of a rug down to its bare minimum so as to achieve this much liked texture and appearance. It is also possible for our expert to leave a small amount of pile on the surface should that be preferable. This will be discussed and confirmed prior to the commencement of any works.
These works are performed by an expert whose work is generally undertaken in a rug restoration facility which has been specifically designed and fitted out with all the tools and equipment necessary to ensure a successful result.
